Location

Borovets is the first winter resort in Bulgaria and is the biggest Bulgarian ski center in length and capacity of ski slopes and facilities. Ski runs are long over 45 km with varying degrees of difficulty. The resorts has twice hosted World Cup Alpine skiing.

Surrounded by old pine forests, it is the perfect place for winter sports and holidays. Borovets is located in the eastern part of Rila Mountain at 1350 m altitude. Situated at the foot of the highest peak on the Balkan Peninsula - Mussala, 2925 m.

The resort is easily accessible. It is 70 km southeast of Sofia and 125 km west of Plovdiv. Infrastructure of the resort is well-formed. There is a bus station and regularly buses to neighboring towns and resorts.

 

Entertainment

The resort offers the most varied and interesting opportunities for recreation all year round - indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna, gym, billiards, bowling. Here you will find many hotels and private villas, restaurants with traditional Bulgarian cuisine, fast food outlets, pizzerias, cafes, bars, clubs, bistros and shops; a lot of fun and attractions: the ski slides, rack track, moto sleds, fishing. Evening resort pulses with innumerable lights of the nightlife.

 

 

If you do not ski, you can go in any of the tourist routes with an experienced attendant to picturesque spots in the Rila Mountains: Seven Rila Lakes, Mt Malyovitsa, Mussala. You will enjoy the wonderful scenery, if you select a jeep safari through the fountain to Sefer Iskar Dam, Black Rock and Seven Lakes. Here you can ride horse, to fish or simply relax in one of the numerous pubs and restaurants in the resort.

During the warm months Borovets offer excellent conditions for relax the coolness and tranquility of the pine forests, meadows dotted with flowers and herbs, many lakes and snowy peaks. For nature lovers, the resort is a preferred location and starting point for many tourist routes in the Rila Mountains.
